Donald Trump : Hillary Is Running For President “Because She Wants To Stay Out Of Jail”

On Monday, November 9th, in Springfield, Illinois, the current leader in the GOP presidential race, Donald Trump declared that the only reason Hillary Clinton is running for President of the United States is to evade going to jail for something she knows she is guilty of. The question of whether or not she broke the law by using a personal email address to send out classified information became a national controversy in March of 2015. It was later announced that she had also deleted 32,000 emails that she declares “personal”. A memo in June of 2015 from Steve A. Linick, the inspector general of the State Department, said that after reviewing all 55,000 pages of emails, they found “hundreds of potentially classified emails.”

According to Donald Trump, “People are in jail right now for doing five percent what [Hillary Clinton] did and the Democrats are not going to prosecute her, and it’s frankly a disgrace. And you know it and so do I and so do these people right here—they know it.” The mishandling of the classified material happened during the period that Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State. He later went on to say that “Hillary is running for a lot of reasons—one of ‘em is because she wants to stay out of jail.” Donald  Trump did announce that “If I won, we’re going to look into that crime very, very seriously folks and you better remember that there’s a six-years statute of limitations on that crime.:

While bashing Hillary Clinton, he also compared her to General David Patraeus. General Patraeus received two years’ probation for distributing classified material with his mistress and “he was somebody that everybody liked, everybody respected.” Yet, Hillary Clinton something so much worse than that and seems to get off on the charges. Trump later polished his argument by adding “if we had honest government, Hillary wouldn’t be allowed to run.”

He also announced his observation that Hillary recently “got a little burst of energy because she figures she is not going to be indicted” and seemingly benefited from the Benghazi hearings. But Trump said this “energy” that Hillary has “is not a natural energy” and definitely “not going to last long.” The Benghazi hearing is the result of the attack on the night of September 11, 2012 when Islamic militants attacked an American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya resulting in the death of U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and U.S. Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith. Later, the State Department was highly condemned for denying request for additional security at the site of the attack prior to that night. As the Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton was the person who held the responsibility for the obvious lack of security.
